“The one thing I notice which is really gross,” Janice continues, “is that hotels and cruise lines are playing the currency market. Oberoi prices the Nile cruise in euros but then converts the price to Egyptian pounds when the trip is booked. I am now dealing with a $40 increase. The Four Seasons quotes the rate in dollars, but then converts to Egyptian pounds and then back to dollars. They did deduct the extra money when Icomplained. It was only $5, but it was more the principle. I should not have to play the currency market when someone quotes me a rate in a currency. I wonder how many others are playing this game?”
