Accessibility applies to people with hearing loss as well. Restaurants such as Buddakan are acoustical nightmares even for people with full hearing. Architects and designers need to consider acoustical issues such as sound absorption when designing a restaurant. “Cool” and “fabulous” spaces are tiring when a diner cannot hear the person sitting across the table at dinner.
